STUDIO 51
The project relates to a construction of a studio-loft with residential use, in a preexisting industrial building, covering a surface of 105sq.m. The unobstructed view, provided by the intense landscape of the area, can be considered as the starting point of the architectural design. The idea, in order to provide different optical escapes to the environment, was the creation of a consecutive and open space, where the “communal” and “private” uses would coexist and be directly linked. An all-day shelter with the dining area in the south part of the apartment, leads at the ending of the staircase and is surrounded by continuous views, south/east to the bedroom and bathroom, whereas north/west to the kitchen which is on a higher level in order to have a view of the mountains. A residence where furniture, has the role of structural elements, replacing walls and transforming space, by simultaneously dividing and connecting, the “sleeping” with the “living” zone. Natural materials as wood, glass and metal in various levels of oxidation are used.
